Flying with the birds at sunrise......  (Or maybe or should have titled that Dodging the birds at sunrise )

Since the weather has cooled down here Ive noticed a strange phenominom,  for about 20 minutes either side of sunrise, thousands of pigeons fly north to south across a long stretch of the coast line,  well at least 3km.     It can be a real pain to make sure Im not in their flight path.  But it does allow for some interesting captures..

Thanks DT,   It's been hard at times for the last week or so to avoid them,  no worries of that today as it's been raining now for about 20 hours straight..

If it has been raining for that long I'm sure the birds have sheltered, at least until the rain stops.

If I could see out if the wi does I’d check for the birds but there’s too much water running down them.

6 drone batteries, two drones. Car chargers and 2 DSLRs and a tripod.

I also might try and recreate this shot on the way home time and tide permitting.

No.  I only did the edit on that last week whilst the radiator was being re plumbed.

They know how to ruin a shot.

Driving to our lunch appointment today we encountered a field with a dozen egrets in and around it.
No chance to film as it was pouring with rain. If it's fine tomorrow, we'll pass that way again on the off-chance.

Egret orca little egret?   The population of little egrets here has exploded in the last 2 years.  We had one called Eddie. Joe there’s about 20.   For sure one of my favourite sea birds.

The white heron. Stands about a metre tall. Years ago, there used to be predominantly grey heron here, counted in dozens. They seem to be getting slowly supplanted by the white variety.
