Here we see the second (former) factory very close to the other I have been posting about.
This is a location where they used to have a paper factory for a very long time, until Stora Enso decided to relocate the production elsewhere.
Unfortunately all of the old buildings apparently were removed, because they had some great brick buildings.
Anyhoy, I decided to still take my chance and capture what it is today.

Nice shot.    Out with the old and in with the new as they say.

I wonder if they re-purposed any of the bricks from the old buildings or were they just demolished and hauled off?

That's very interesting.  Here, used bricks are about half the price of new ones.  People repurpose bricks for many uses.  Here are a few.

I have to be honest, I'm not sure what they did with this one.
But quite often you see a big dump container when they are demolishing buildings that get all the 'stone like' material.
Maybe they separate this later, but I think they don't.

I read a bit into it and it is adviced against it when the building was exposed to moisture, since that will leave residu inside the bricks (salt) and that can cause problems with how it handles rain.
But they can (and do) repurpose it, if they make sure that is not the case

From what I read, it was more about the residue (minerals) that are left inside the bricks because of  (a long period of) exposure to moisture.
But then again, I just read about it. I'm no expert whatsoever

I'm not planning on flying soon.
Too much footage to process.
And not much interesting to capture.
Oh and a BIG BIG NFZ around our place due to military exercise (until 17th of November)

Well, on the positive side, I get to see a lot of low flying choppers these days.
And I really like that.
Chinooks, Apache's
And I even witnessed some dogfights with F35's.
That was really exciting.

I'm definitely no expert either.  I'm going to try and ask a few brick masons that I know and see if I can find out more information on the process for re-purposing bricks.

Than you are not suited for this job.
We had to go inside the silo's where we mixed these spices to clean them.
Typical orders were 10.000kg or more so these are big.
It was warm and sweaty and the spices got into your skin.
But still, I love the smell of a spice chamber.
