** Updated 11/11/22 following DFT announcement ** It's been reported that some people in the UK have been receiving the Mavic 3 Classic without the C1 label on the arm, whereas others have.  What is going on DJI?  If someone in the UK does get one without the label will you send one out and it be compliant?  Also, for existing UK Mavic 3/Mavic 3 Cine owners who have updated to the .900 C1 compliant firmware do you have any updated timescales for when you will be able to issue C1 labels once they have proven they have the neccessary firmware loaded on - will that be in 2022?

Indeed seems a fair few people didn't get the label, would be interesting to do a poll of who did and didn't as well as where they bought from. I haven't watched that video, but saw from another live stream and video by some long established professionals in the industry.

Just an update - DFT in the UK have announced today the C class markings will no longer be recognised in the UK in 2023.... so this becomes a mute point in about a month and a half... a shame in some ways.

Hello, Axelz. To give an update, your concerns have been addressed by our related department. Please note that the C1 certificate is valid across the European Economic Area (EEA, i.e. EU plus Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein). The related measures are not effective in the UK therefore if the drone is a UK version, it doesn't have the C1 label. About the Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine, the application process for obtaining the new C1 class identification label is scheduled to be available to all customers later this year. More details will be announced at that time and there is no possibility to apply for it now. Should you have any concerns or inquiries, please do not hesitate to reach us here at DJI Forum. Thank you for your continued support.

C ratings in the UK will become no longer recognised in the UK after Jan 1st 2023, furthermore, the transitional period for legacy drones is now pushed back to summer 2026.

Yes that’s what I’ve posted above.

It’s just utter bollox!

Why does it take the DfT / CAA a further 3 years to sort things out (2026), when they’ve had well enough time to sort the UK guidelines? They honestly better have this all sorted in 2023, or hundreds of people will end up ignoring the rules and doing their own thing! It’s a complete and utter shambles!

I’m also not sure where our £10 a year goes when refreshing operator ID’s, you don’t receive a certificate or anything, just an auto generic Email. This could be done simply on a normal PC desktop at home….so the CAA are raking in millions from all of us hobbyists….and for what! We’re all being scammed.

Sorry for the rant, but they have known full well C1 Drones were on the horizon and have done nothing apart from delay the process!
And all of us hobbyists are now in limbo what will happen, will the CAA adopt thr EASA rules, will they come up with something new....who knows at this point.

"hundreds of people will end up ignoring the rules and doing their own thing" that's happened for a long time ..... nothing changes there, apart from nowadays the lower cost to buy a drone means many more "pilots" out there of varying experience, skills, knowledge and responsibility (and lack of for some)...
