I have livestreamed on youtube with my action 3. But i am curious if i am able to use it plugged into my computer for a higher resolution. When i plug it in to my computer the action 3 comes up as webcam or files. Do i need to download an app to be able to access the action cam as my webcam?

Hi there. Thank you for your inquiry. The DJI Osmo Action 3 supports the Webcam function. UVC stands for USB Video Class. It is a protocol standard defined for USB video capture devices. Webcams were the first devices to support USVC and are the most popular UVC devices.

* When Osmo Action 3 works as a webcam, it can be connected to a computer using the USB-C cable to transfer data. At this point, the computer will charge Osmo Action 3.

*Please note that the Osmo Action 3 does not have an HDMI port.


[Compatible Software on Different Platforms]

I. Windows platform

1) Tencent Meeting;

2) OBS Studio;

3) PotPlayer;

II. macOS platform

Photo Booth (macOS system built-in software)

*1. It can be used on Mac Pro and iMac platforms.

*2. The stabilization of the Webcam function is related to macOS system compatibility. If there is any issue with this function, instruct the customer to update their macOS system. The test results for each computer model are shown below:

No.
But there have been some that did it with a cracked firmware or something.

To add, there is  a program for the OA,   google is not your friend
