Is it possible to control the R5C with the rs3 camera controls?
(Aperture iso etc)

RS 3 can not be used with R5C for the time being.
But if you use R5C with RS 3 Pro, it is compatible.

Yes I am using the rs3 pro, I am unable to get either the shutter, iso or aperture to work with the front dial

Thanks for your update. If you can not use the shutter, ISO or aperture with the front dial, please check the following details and keep us updated:
1. Please make sure that the camera is in a mode that can adjust the camera parameters;
(Please switch to manual mode)
2. And please offer the following information so that we can check the problems better and reply to you asap:
1) Please confirm the functioning mode you selected when Canon EOS R5C is connected to the gimbal;
2) Please tell us the firmware version information of the camera and gimbal;
3) Please provide relevant videos demonstrating the control process;
4) Please take pictures after the wire control is connected;

I have the same problem.
I have the R5C with the latest firmware update (1.0.2.1) and use the RS3 PRO (01.00.01.00).
I have them connected via an usb-c cable.

VIDEO MODE
The only thing that works in VIDEO mode is the record button.
I tried in ptf, pf or fpb modes. ISO, SHUTTER and APERTURE don't work with the front dial.

PHOTO MODE
ISO, SHUTTER and APERTURE do work with the front dial.

So the problem is in the video mode.

I have the same problem, the only function that works with the R5C in video mode is record. This is so irritating!

I have R5C and brand new RS3 pro with latest firmware 1.04.00.00 and the only thing that works is the wheel for focus motor , roll , tilt or pan. BUT !!! Record button does NOT WORK!!! This is annoying!
Can you help DJI!?!
