I guess I am the only one having a problem flying out of the box. After trying to install the new  ...

Had this happen to me and I did a reinstall and put it in a room by its self and let it beep (more like a siren) away during the install.  After an hour or so I came back and all was well.  No noise and firmware was upgraded and bird was ready to calibrate, etc.

I have two P3Pros and then I bought a P4 just for giggles....

Can't get mine activate right out of the box.

I had to think about that one it was so long ago. I can't remember exactly what it was. I do remember that it was my fault and not the Phantom's.

I wouldn't bet on 3 miles unless you're out in the middle of no where with a clear line of site. 1.2 Miles Is more like it.

P3p here.  Had a fall from sky issue on fw 1.5.  Fixed under warranty and two weeks after I get her back it happens again . This time they claim csc and quoted 750 to fix an already been fixed bird. . Optted to buy a whole new p3p st 799& and now have two p3p.  Spare parts and self repairs from now on

I have the P3S. Love the thing and have had it for over a month with no issues. Have only gone 300ft up and maybe 150 feet away or so.
Just so damn scared the thing is going to take off. I do wish I had bought the Advanced for the better controller and range.

So, I did not get Standard, because it has significantly less functionality than the Advanced and Pro, however, I did not get the Pro, because the only difference seemed to be 2.7K video going up to 4K? I did not feel it was the extra $200-300...  How about the rest of you people? Why did u go for what u went for?  Either way, at every level of P3, it's an awesome machine! Isn't it?

I had two issues with mine. The camera was tilted, but it never really bothered me, so I lived with it. If I had taken more time, I could have probably fixed it. Also, I had an error that came up after using it on a boat that said the gyroscope bias was too large. I went through an IMU calibration and the error never came back. Then I had the biggest issue of all that so far, DJI has has been unable to fix; pilot error. I let it get out of my sight and flew it into an irrigation pivot and destroyed it.

I have been extremely happy with my purchase and now after getting my insurance check in the mail yesterday to replace it, I'm considering upgrading to the 4, but I'm still researching which one I will go with. Given the good luck I had with the P3P, I'm leaning heavily toward going back with it.

Yes the p3p is all I need. Didn't even contemplate updating when the p4 came out.

i've got the standard. and loving it. first drone, so i thought get the cheapest phantom in case i wreck it. but, all is well. easy to fly. am practicing manual flight and love the video. perfect for utube.

P3P  Still on 1.4   I don't have any intention on upgrading ."Its not broke don't not need fixing"

I have a Phantom 3 Advanced. It worked beautifully from new, but after a few weeks it developed cracks around two of the motors. DJI arranged for me to have it repaired free of charge (I live in South Africa) and I got it back within two weeks.

P3P.  First drone ever and I went balls-out.  I adore this thing and have loved the footage i've got around my home state (Wyoming).  I don't have one single 4k display, but I like knowing I have more than I need rather than less.

Man, this thing is addictive.

p3a an also p3 4k 1 works with light bridge 1 works with wifi put all the bells an whistle on both to protect them. Just one problem no time to fly em, an when  i do to windy to fly. Had a third one that flew away not part of the dji family, I spend more time looking for it then flying my new ones.

I own the Phantom 3 4K how come that is never listed as an option?

Even a dumb old man has no problems.

Even this dumber and older has an Advance and a Pro that has NO faults and never has had except for a few dumb control commands that I have tried to give it

Im never experience fly away with my advanced, thanks god

P3S works great. Got out 3500 feet.

Just love my standard with dbs mod will wait for the phantom 5 to upgrade

I used to have a Phantom 3 Standard, but sold it and got my dad's Pro when he got a 4.

I've been having a great time with my Phantom 3 Standard.

I just made an important realization, my Phantom 3 Pro' actually owns me. Hahaha

I cater to it, baby it, buy it gifts and try to always keep it happy. Not sure when this relationship changed, but it has, and I love it... ;-)

Between the extra flight batteries, Lume Cubes, Nanuk 945 with shoulder strap, the list grows...
Considering buying a few stock in DJI, to help pay its way... Chuckles

Got a Standard, but purchased a pro and waiting for it to arrive. Hopefully the transmission should be better even though I put a range extender on my standard. :-)

I can't vote even though I have the Phantom 3. My Phantom isn't listed here! I have the Phantom 3 4K, the least popular in the P3 line, and probably the most underrated.

Then you have a Phantom 3 Standard. It just has a 4K camera... ;-)

Actually, the P3 4K is more similar to the P3 Professional. It has the Inspire 1 style controller that can hold the iPad, the exact same camera and gimbal as the P3 Professional, and it has the Visual Positioning System. The only difference is that it does not have the lightbridge.

In a way then it's similar to both. It's a good intermediate. Thanks for responding.

Me ... P3S and only thing is intermittent Video feed. Control even with CE gives me more than 600m in residential area. I will be installing Argtek antenna system to try improve range of both control and video - but in reality - 600m or so is enough for my wants as long as I can have the video feed as well.I have Icarus software to flip to FCC power - that will be installed with my new display unit ... Nexus 7 - 2. That will help with range.

What surprises me is the number of people with more than one Phantom. I have over 50 RC aircraft and boats but they all fly differently - have own characters as in 3D ... aerobatics ... scale ... EDF ... etc. But the Phantom as I see it is basically a stable multi-rotor camera platform.

I will probably move up to an Advanced later or if I really feel the need - instead of the 3 Pro - for similar money the P4 would be my choice ....

But fir now - the 3S suits my limited needs.

I had P3S and everything works great....no issues at all and im so happy with it...

So I just pulled my post out of the box and I've done all the necessary updates and connected to remote and my device everything seems to be working fine. Now I'd like to start doing the simulations before I actually fly but I don't know where to go or how to do it. Can someone please help me with this?

I have 2 Phantoms, but they are both different. I have a Phantom 1 that I've modified the heck out of, and I just got a Phantom 3 as an upgrade that gets much better video. I kept the P1 because of nostalgia. I've had it 2 years now and it has served me well. I also have a few RC planes, which do provide much more variety than just a bunch of Phantoms.

I just unboxed my p3s and I have it all connected and firmware update in and up and working. New to this I'd like to do the flight simulations before actually trying to fly it but I don't know how to get to that part and how to do it. Can someone please help or explain how to?

Sure can. First, you need to have the RC, app and drone turned on to utilize the onboard flight SIM.
So, when you open your Go app, on the front page, in the top right corner you see that graduation cap?
Tap that and it will open a new page where the flight SIM is the first tab, as it's always situated...
