After seeing a few more than usualy complaints about drones falling out of the sky, I decided to look into safety solutions.

One of the things I found was an automatic parachute system similar to that of CAPS in Cirrus aircraft.

What do you guys think? Is this something that could be reliable?

I think adding something like this to your drone will do more damage than good and actually increase the risk something might happen.
I have been flying for 5 years now and never experienced anything bad with any of my drones that would make it fall from the sky.

complete waste of time and money unless you have a specific and narrow purpose.

Hope you can try one yourself, would like to hear your review. IMHO like others, haven't experienced anything serious for the drone to suddenly drop. I see more bad than good out of this especially the parachute getting caught in at least one of the props if there was a catastrophic failure.
