Hey! I'm looking to intergrate a drone in my job. I use field map as a map software for field work and my question is if it's possible to connect the drones GPS.
Field Map can be connected to most GPS recievers through bluetooth but being able to read NMEA sentences is needed. Do you think i can connect it either directly to the drone or the iPhone that's connected with my remote controller somehow?
The optimal setup would be to have iPhone connected with RC to steer and all that and then have my iPad with Field Maps open and get a GPS read on the drone there.
Dont know if it helps but here's a guide on how to connect field map to external GPS: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/field-maps/android/help/high-accuracy-data-collection.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_9DE0A732D02C4E40953591BAAA842F8D
There's no way to get real time gps data from the drone, your best bet would be to look at custom apps like Drone Deploy which are designed for surveying.
