Hey, I’m planning to travel to the U.S. soon and I’m taking my Avata. I’m from Spain, so I’m not familiar at all with the drone flight regulations there. Does anyone know what I should need license-wise or have any resources I could look into? Thanks in advance!

honestly, it depends on how long you are going to be here, how much flying you will do, and where you plan to fly.

in a drone forum, i would never tell you to not bother but i wouldn't bother.

never fly in drone no-fly zones or restricted airspace like military or airport runways.

Hi, Canicity. Thank you for reaching out. The Saint has given good suggestions. We want to add to contact the local government where you will be staying to avoid confusion with their laws. You may also contact FAA directly here's their contact-us link: https://www.faa.gov/contact Thank you for your valued support.

Might be a daft idea... but does anywhere in the States offer a 'rent a drone' service?

You could take your own memory cards and just use one over there.

Yea, might be a stupid suggestion. Sorry.
Hope your trip goes well

For those who have that situation here are the instructions

Here's what you need:

  • Register Here (https://faadronezone-access.faa.gov/#/).  The FAA will consider the certificate issued to be a recognition of ownership rather than a certificate of U.S. aircraft registration.
  • Complete the free online TRUST. (https://www.faa.gov/uas/recreational_flyers/knowledge_test_updates)
  • Comply with the rules of The Exception for Limited Recreational Ops (https://www.faa.gov/uas/recreational_flyers).

Kisses!!!
