If I don't fly this weekend it will be three months since my Mini 2 has had the wind beneath its props.

Hey I just noticed that you are over 51M feet flown.      I know the weather has slowed you down some but that is still a lot of feet flown.

Thanks DT,  I got a sunrise flight in Saturday morning which tipped me over the edge.   Today is more rain,  but in 20 mins its due to stop for the day but looking at the sky I would say thats a lie.

Not much... A flood of DIY needing finished has been a big problem, and today it's blue skies but way too windy.

Light rain here today with steady northeast winds of 20-23 mph.  Since I can't fly I'm going to get a scuba dive in here shortly.

I saw there is flood alerts for Miami this morning, I know it’s not too close but will that effect you too.

Yeah, they are getting battered by heavy rains come off the Gulf of Mexico.  We are just getting a scattering of steady showers.  The winds out of the northeast are what is hampering flying today.  Anyway, just safety checked my scuba gear and meeting a buddy in 2 hours for a dive.

Had a great dive DA.    Visibility was great and we found the remains of an old shrimp boat that must have sunk in a storm years back.  The nets were all encrusted with marina life and we could no longer make out the name of the boat.  We (dive buddy of mine and me) measured the boat as best we could and will report our findings to the US Coast Guard.  It might help solve the location of a missing boat from years back.

Sounds like a nice find,   is there somewhere you can check to see if it's already been found,   I seem to recall here there is a wreck database.

The US Coast Guard maintains a data base of old wrecks.  I took a quick look yesterday but it didn't appear to be there.  It would be nice if their database was searchable by GPS locations.

They said they would assign it to their analytics department and let us know if it is a repeat or new find.  Doesn't look like it has ever been disturbed but then again not much to salvage off a shrimp boat.

Sorry, no bell was spotted.  We did see the large anchor under a bit of debris but it had no recognizable markings on it.  Nothing back from Coast Guard yet.

That's probably true.  It was a large anchor so I'm sure it would have had some weight to it.  

There was netting everywhere so I was just being extra careful to not get tangled up in it.

Exactly right....and I never dive without my 9" bladed one.  Also works if you get up close and personal with a shark.  Most of the time I can just nudge them away with the handle but I do remember a small shark that kept getting aggressive with me.  I turned the knife around and after two jabs he left the area and so did I because of all his blood in the water I knew it would draw other and probably bigger sharks.

The knife is part of my pre-dive checklist for sure.

Not a rule per se, but for safety diving in pairs or more is always a good idea.

I always assumed it was a rule.  I will have to ask my mate who used to scuba about it here.

It's definitely not a rule or law but it is common sense.  Besides, I have a PADI Self-Reliant Diver certification.  I still believe in the philosophy of "Never dive alone – unless properly trained".  I do make it a habit of diving with a buddy or in a group, except when I clean the bottom of my boat.

We've just had some wind and rain but as it's getting dark it doesn't really matter too much now.

Im just frying off some mince to make a greek dish thats like lasagne but uses slices of potato instead of pasta and it's slightly beefier.
