Thats a shame,  its light drizzle here at the moment and the forecast is showing rain for latter so my 80 Years latter shot is off for today.   only 9c here.

I've found one from 1952 that I want to emulate. I've actually got footage from very near the correct spot, but too low. It doesn't give the correct perspective.  But it's walking distance from here. It will have to be an afternoon shot to have the sun in the right place.  My previous stuff was early morning, dawn patrol footage with the sun in the lens.

Most of the shots Ive see tend to be from several thousand feet but you can often still get close to the shot.

I've figured out where I need to hover, and if I go to max permissible height I should be able to frame the shot pretty accurately.

Sounds like you just need to pull you finger out when the weather is good.

10/10 cloud, and damp now. So it's hard to say.  And the 10-day forecast is downright depressing

I had it on my phone rather than printing it off. A bit small, but seviceable. The result isn't bad, but not quite was I was trying to achieve. I might go back tomorrow if the weather is suitable. It's only ten minutes' walk from here.

It's supposed to stop in 20 mins for the rest of the day but looking at the sky I dont believe it.   Was planning of a walk into the woods to look for some gnarly trees to photograph when the light is better and then home for the ham and split pea soup I made last night.
