heck yea, i use the bed cover on the back of my f350 to take off and land.  works great.  I put little sticky tape foam pads 1/8 inch thick or so on the bottom of my inspire feet that i got at a hobby store to keep it from scratching the bed cover.  surprised the inspire didnt already have them like the phantoms do, cost twice as much and have less features, what  a deal, lol

possible to have a photo, I do not understand all your  set up. In China a lot of dust. At 4 meters height, the sand was blowing up. Of course, all preparation as calibration and check points were NOT done on the metal plate of the car. We always take off fast, hang for a while to let stabilize the GPS, control of the sensors before the definite flight. After 84 hours of flight, no any accident, only once, flying between cables and a GPS lost at the same time.
