Not hugely,   did plan to venture up to Norfolk;k today but the weather didn't want to help with that,  though I did get out for sunrise its now turned to rain.  Most of us here today will get some.

Yes,   the rain lessoned so I thought Id risk it,  got to the end of the road and turned the corner to nearly be knocked off my feat by the wind.     Sunny here today but 6c and light winds.

No doubt that is jacket weather, especially with the light winds.  I want mention what the high is predicted for here to day as I don't want to get you mad.

lol please dont.  Ive just been out to remove the car cover and Im gong to upgrade the fleece to a full wool jumper.

Kinda regretting it now.    Just took the car into the tuners and it’s boiling in their waiting room.   Keep your fingers crossed for me,  I’m expecting bad news.

Bit of a long story,   the car usually is serviced at the main dealer as they include break down and recovery as part of the service which is worth nearly as much as the service itself.   Last year when it was serviced they spilled some oil under the hood,  infact it was everywhere and I complained and had a good 2 hour job to detail the engine after that.   This year after only about 150 miles it goes back for another yearly service and this time they tell me the head gasket is leaking oil.   Now for info the older models of this engine had a common problem where they did leak oil and they were fixed under a recall.  Now mines newer and should not have that fault.     I explained to them about the oil spill and low mileage since but they said they had no record of my car ever being there before which was odd.  But they did say they cleaned up the oil but the leak was still marked on the paper work.


Fast forward a couple of weeks and the good folks that do the tuning for these cars agreed they would do an inspection and they confirmed that at the source of where the oil would be leaking from is the gasket was leaking there were no signs of a leak.  They also showed photo evidence which was nice.    And they showed that the previous oil had not been cleaned up as the dealer said they would.  They will be checking it again after a 200 miles or so but it would appear they saved me £2000.   They do all the other work on the car except the service so they would have had the job to do the gasket if it had been leaking.

I've had some bad dealings with a local dealership and now I opt to drive 20 miles to a different dealer as he is friendly and reputable.  The local dealership has been in the news quite often about shady issues.  The manufacturer even seen a regional representative to check out all the complaints.  Bottom line - dealership is still in business and still ripping people off.

We've been burnt by most of the local dealerships,  this one is about 18 miles to get to.   Usually they are very good it was just this one issue with them,.   the others have been far worse.
