A question for DJI, what happens to flyaway cover bindings once..... the insurance lapses? I.e. what happens after the insurance is not renewed?Do the bindings remain active and in force?

Once the Dji Care which includes flyaway has expired, you should be able to renew for another year or 2 but if not then it ends on the last day of your contract.

Thanks Suren but that 'isn't my question'.
I am more interested in what will happen to the bindings once the insurance has been allowed to lapse, will those bindings remain in effect or will they be undone?
Where a flyaway claim has been made it seems that the binding remains in effect but, as the insurance has not yet been in exstance for a year, no one as yet knows what will happen when it is allowed to lapse....except perhaps for DJI.

Probably, I mean the bindings that can prevent a lost flyaway-insured drone being flown and prevent the controller being swapped etc..

Hi there, Sean-bumble-bee. Binding the aircraft with the remote controller records the linking relationship between the drone and the remote controller. And as we know, only the bound account can operate DJI Care Flyaway Coverage-related function. If you have a Care Refresh plan, you are required to use the same remote controller bound to the aircraft. If the bound controller is not used during the flight and it flies away, then the Flyaway replacement cannot be used. If the plan expires and users were not able to renew it, not unless you manually unbind it, the aircraft will remain bound to the account, and the RC will remain bound to the aircraft as well. Only the DJI Care Refresh replacements privilege will end. Hope this helps! Thank you, and have a nice day.

Thanks, the summary of which would be, the binding remains in effect after the insurance has lapsed and, as per normal, only the someone with access to the binding account can undo the bindings?

You're very welcome, and that is correct, Captain. Only the account holder has permission to unbind the drone with the account. This limitation is used to protect the ownership of the product. Thanks for your continued support.
