Yes I totally agree that it should not say 30cm.
But if it is not sharp at atleast 50cm then there is bad focus indeed.

I couldn't even see at 50 cm...that's why the multiple of 3...

A jpeg is a raw file edited by your camera , a raw file is a file you have to edit yourself. So raw is not better than jpeg until its edited by someone who knows what he's doing . I have seen some of your editing and my advice would be to let the camera edit it for you and I include video in that. Lots of people can create great edited photos from raw images and log footage, usually talented people who can edit.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed because I haven't seen a single one that meets the manufacturer's 30cm, not even one. Well, if it is a multiple of up to 3, then I believe that it will please, because it is indeed made with reason, except for the intentional typo of the manufacturer's specification, without a doubt.

It's good that I keep the whole test interval with the previous problematic cameras, the comparison will be easier

finally I have a camera produced in November in my hands Unfortunately, these days I have a hell of a lot of work and travel and no time left for tests. At first things look significantly better than the old units, but the focus is certainly NOT perfect

Hi everybody, I now have my third camera.

My first was 09/22, which I sent back, because of focus issue. DJI sent me a new one: 08/22 and I was quite satisfied with the image quality. But after my last vacation I noticed, that my face (and the overall quality) was a bit mushy, I did not care at all in the last months, because in my opion and after the FW Updates the quality was just fine. But when you once notice, you´ll always see it.

So, I have DJI Care and without any questions asked DJI sent me within 2 days a new camera. In the box was only the cage and the camera. No battery, because I did not sent back my old battery.

Anyways: I got a 02/2023! And its (for me) perfect.

Perfect Service DJI! (I once had a Gopro 11 and the service really sucked!)

Mine is on its way to Germany for repair/replacement.
I have focus issue on the edge mainly, and cinelike mode is just unusable, quality is even worse in this mode.
Batch was 2022/12, received 2 weeks ago.

I hope to get it good repaired on return, or get a good replaced one. Finger crossed !

So are people STILL seeing Focus issues with their brand new Osmo Action 3 ?

I have one on the way tomorrow and don't plan on starting a lottery to find a perfect one.

Only if you get an older batch. Safest is to buy from shops that have their stock recently filled up.

Units made from August-October is worst ones with most cases with bad focus.
November and later should have good focus in all cases.

You will probably get a new unit from this year so nothing to worry about, but we all are here to help you.

Is this a known fault then from DJI

Was there a recall due to all the faulty units, or are people just sending theirs in and DJI are doing a free (repair) swap?

Seeing heaps of YouTube videos and you can just see it's out of focus on some.
