Mini 3 Non Pro spotted on FCC database,  looks like a cheaper Mini 3 is on the way,  will this mark the end for all the Mini2's they still sell?

Interesting to see when it comes out and what it 'misses' compared to the pro version.

Oh and the price is something I'm curious about too of course.

The speculation on YT was no OA,  no vertical camera,  possibly a smaller battery.

Lack of OA is ok for me. Lack of vertical camera and smaller battery would be a big step down.

But if they keep the same sensor the quality would still get a big upgrade over mini2.

At the end of the day this is going to be a cheaper drone with less features so that they have something to sell in a lower price bracket and the pro model for people will to pay more for the better done.

We'll see what happens.
I don't 'need' a new drone, so I can wait for the right moment.

Prob just not have OA, i would be surprised if they remove the vertical camera, after all, that is the Mini 3, vertical will stay so that its better than the Mini 2, i think the battery will stay the same and may remove some software features? Thats my take on it..

But is OA alone worth an extra £200 ish over the non pro.  

What is the point in speculation? It just possibly provokes interest and allows them to up the price if they are so inclined.
But I suppose I am banging my head against a brick wall with this line of thinking.

At this point Im sure DJI have locked in what features they are dropping.  

Going to be a dumbed down version for sure.  Speculation has loss of OA and vertical shooting mode.  

I'm waiting on news of Pocket 3.

Extra batteries always come in handy.  Speaking of batteries did DJI ever relent and give you credit on the defective extended battery?

Nope,    I did manage to get it back without paying the shipping,  but they are not interested.   DJI even contacted me based on a comment I left on YouTube saying they could help,  but then they went quiet.

I hadnt noticed that until you mentioned it.  I wonder if the new pocket and mini are still coming this year.

Since almost all of the Mavic series are gone, who knows. It usually means firmware/app updates, doesn't it?

I would certainly expect that.

Potential lack of OA and/or vertical camera aside, the camera upgrade alone would make the Mini2 less desirable versus a Mini3.

Pure speculation of course, but that's one of things that we do best here!

In my case, I leapfrogged the Mini2 - going from the Mavic Mini 1 straight to the Mini3Pro.
And yes, we can speculate about which features might be missing from this Mini3 variant
