I think I might be the first person to have tested out the invisible selfie stick feature!
I was able to test out my OA3 over the weekend snowboarding at Mammoth Mountain. Let me know your thoughts!

Remarkable. Only the shadow was the give-away.

Right? It's not too bad at all especially considering this isn't a 360 camera.

You could clearly see the blurry where it have been removed, but it will look great on phones.
Nice video there

Thank you! Yeah it's evident you can see the blur and it works best when the selfie pole is extended over snow only

For a first result for a DJI action cam - it looks fine.  Just keep the selfie stick over the snow so that it completely disappears.

Otherwise it will creep into the shot when your body is the background.  Would suspect DJI to fine tune this further down the line.  But here is a X3 shot in Me mode 1080p60 - ie. not 360 mode - for comparison.   Trees and body are the background for the selfie stick.

I'm a heavy GoPro Max user and I'm strongly considering the X3.

If you are looking for a current 360 cam - the X3 is a good choice.  Many Youtubers have compared this to the H11 and come away quite impressed.  What I personally really like - is the external audio has positive and negative gain - so pretty much any mic used does not clip at very high wind speeds.  Whether that be shotgun or omni or wireless.  Super clean audio is always nice.

Hi actionxander
Thanks for the video.
AI needs guess what is under the selfstick. if it is the snow , the footage will be great. If it is a cloth, emm it needs to try different textures.
If u adjust to it a litttle bit, it will preform better.

Turned out really well in my view for a non 360 camera.  As Bleriot said only the shadow gave it away

Oh that's pretty neat! I've also seen someone created an aftermarket cold shoe to mount the DJI wireless mics to it. Strongly considering it so I can up my production values

I was pretty satisfied with the initial results especially for posting to social media/stories (got a ton of people asking how I did it LOL).

But absolutely, will do a better job next time to keep the pole extended over snow exclusively.

Merci pour ce partage.
Je suis honnetement plutot décu du resultat final... c'est assez grossier
J'espere qu'une mise à jour apportera des améliorations
