Great find DA.  

Darren offers up many useful winter flying tips.  Even though the winters here are not true winters per se but regardless these tips could come in useful.

  27C is not even close is it.  Stand by though as I'm sure many 0c or below are  on the way then the tips will come in handy.

Lows of 4°c over the weekend here.    But still no frost has arrived.

Lows of 4°c over the weekend here.    But still no frost has arrived.

4C should get you close to some frost.  No doubt it will be time to bundle up and stay warm.

Forecast today was full sun,  headed out and it was looking promising 50 miles into the trip and thick fog rolled in,  luckily shortly after arriving at the first place it cleared mostly.

That was some great luck.  Although I'm not a big fan of driving in heavy fog so hope it wasn't too bad of a drive to the first stop.

there was about 100ft visibility on the road which is fine,   they are all slow roads up that way,  most are under 50mph as its quite rural.

Nice that it was in a rural area and had only minimal traffic.  

Driving in fog is still not my favorite thing to do but sometimes you just have to do what you do to get where you need to be.

We had a fog warning on the weather forecast this morning,.   I made sure to get SHMBO'd up extra early as she has to go to the office today and then I headed out for some early morning fog flying,  only to find there was none out there.  Not even a mist.

Man, don't you just abhor the weather guessers when they are wrong?  You had lots of expectations for some fog footage and the weather guessers let you down big time.

I wont say I was caught out again this moring as I planned to be out before sunrise anyway,  but I was excited to see fog on the forecast again this morning,     got to my usual spot,   no fog.  but after a short flight along the water lightening started to light up the sky. then a rain alert popped up on the watch sop I called it early.  No rain ever did arrive but the lightening alone was enough to call it.     By next Thursday we should be in negative numbers here.

I usually don't stick around long enough to capture any really good lightning shots as I get inside as soon as possible after the first sighting of lightning.  After the 2 sailors on the base got struck by lightning I've always been more aware of it and do my best to avoid being out in it.

This wouldn’t be good to photograph. It was above the clouds and just made the sky flash like a camera flash behind a sheet.  But with the prospect of rain as well I went home early.

Okay, so it wasn't one of those photo op lightening moments.  

Yeah, rain drives us all in, especially when you are using electronics outdoors.  I did get my Skydio 2+ damp one morning but it didn't seem to effect it (at least not yet anyway).

Went for a pre dawn flight this morning,   and wouldn't you know it,   unforecast rain appeared.    We now have 1.5" of snow forecast for next Saturday.

Dang the luck.  Sounds like that might be leading up to a white Christmas.  However, with 3 weeks to go that could all change.  Long range forecast here for Christmas day is 27C.
