Here a Osmo Action 3 screen shots that was modified in the way "JustName" was posted.

From the left, original Osmo Action 3, DJI Action 2, and modified Osmo Action 3 (I rotated about 1/4 turn counterclockwise)

This seems to work for me. It's better than DJI Action 2

osmo action 3 with modified left side and dji action 2 is right side.

That doesn’t look right, on number 3 it’s completely dark probably 1 stop compared to number 1. This look like you’re moving from one problem to another while voiding your warranty. Have you updated NEW FW, this seems to have corrected a lot of problems.

Very nice! But you have also to test in the distance. Too much rotation counterclockwise will affect the focus in the distance. You have to find the best point appr. at 35 cm. This was the best distance for really good focus in the near and in the distance.

This is the latest firmware.
The third picture is dark because my head is covering the light. But the previous Ozmo Action 3 didn't capture the same clear image as the third from that distance.

All of them are 4k/30 16:9 rocksteady off
color,iso setting is automatic.

I'm satisfied now, but I'll adjust it a little more as you advised.

Looks great. Much more clearly defined on the adjusted camera.

Much better results on the modified shot.  

can not wait for one to damage their Action 3. and one Sure did, they were not happy!

Did you take the whole lense out or just open the front lense cover (the big screw on one) and then twist it from there without taking it out. And do you just twist it a bit and then put the camera on the same shot and just eyeball it looking better?
dont think ill try doing any of this tbh but curious just to know for future

There is no need to take out the inner lens.
I just slightly grabbed the lens with a long plier and turned it counterclockwise.

At first, it doesn't work well because of the bonding
If you heat it up with a hair dryer and turn it around,
After that, if you apply a little force, it works well.

Again from front to back the action has better focus and because narrower field of view its to difficult to compare.
