Hi folks, are any of you using these gradient filters from Freewell, if so, any good?

I am actually waiting for DJI to get some more of theirs in but for now i am looking at others and these gradients are peaking my interest and yeah, they will be used primarily for still images, probably...

Not the graduate version, but I use the ND1000
Pretty good, a bit of a color shift, but that is to be expected at higher densities.

When do you actually use that one, waterfalls?

I have both of the Freewell Gradient filters but haven't tried them out yet.  Maybe this weekend weather permitting.  I will post a video if I do.

Thanks, love to hear your take on them

I have the VND for the Mavic 2 Pro and it's great but Ive yet to find a review on the Mini 3 version.  I've been holding off as it seemed weird no reviews had occurred.

No, motion hyperlapses during the day.
To give motion blur to the moving objects in the frame.

And here there are some motion timelapses scattered through the video.

I like the Freewell ND filters on my Air2S and work great, so filters should equally be good on the Mini 3 Pro. I have some on order with the wide angle & anamorphic lens, can't wait to see how these turn out!

I would personally not use them for my drone, but for a ground camera, they work great!

Did a quick test yesterday afternoon after the morning deluge ended.  The effect is subtle & will probably work best flying over darker areas than those in my brief test flights.  The 0.9 is not very noticeable but I think the 1.2 starts to show some benefit.  The Mini 3 lens is so fast it needs a strong filter.  I did a test with the 1.2 against a white truck with the filter deliberately left in landscape mode & the camera set to portrait mode so you can see the effect more clearly.  The gradient is smooth so you can fly partially panned down without issue.  All tests 4Kx30fps, EV 0.0, Full Auto.

Thanks ever so much DB I think they will deffo worth using on bright days, just to keep the sky down a notch, thanks again, I've made my mind up

Mighty fine run DB, did you notice the signal go back up at about 90º and again at 180º?

I have a sneaky suspicion that the Mini 3 will do quite well, although they have backed off the max range down to 9km, i wonder if that is intentional so that us Mini 3 Pro owners don't complain?

Ah, that's what caused it....

That will be a decent test, I think someone went further than the specs, think it was China
