I updated the firmware and all the video is muted.  What's the reason?  Return to get it fix?

Drones generally do not record sound. All you would hear would be the whine of the prop motors.

Correct, no mic on the drone itself. So  you will need to edit your video and add sound/music.

What exactly were you hoping to be able to hear during playback?

I can assure you from personal experience flying cameras which record the audio is that you're not missing anything without a mic on the drone.

I don't recall which remotes, but it is possible to connect a microphone (to at least some remotes).  That will allow you to record sounds from the operator location.  I don't do it myself so can only guess at details... I would suspect that the audio track is recorded on the remote controller copy of the video.  That's not the high res video that the drone itself captures, but it would be possible to extract and overlay the audio track to the high-res video.

No audio is recorded on the drone.
