It's time to repair the church.....
Noticied the other mornng that all the lights had been left on in the church,  it turned out that the repair man was making an early start.

Awesome capture DA.    In lieu of your current morning temperatures that has to be very cold working on the top of the church.  Nice to see some renovation going on with the church.

It was -3c when I left this morning,  although that was a car trip not the usual walk.   But later when I walked through the mooring one guy down there was defrosting his car,    the engine had frozen overnight as he didnt have anti freezer in it,   its an old classic that he's just got to restore.  His boat got down to -8c he told me.   The work men were still on the church roof.

They are re instating the old normal weathervane thats been restored.  I just found out they ad a go fund me for it.   If you scroll up there's a pic of the vane.

That's definitely some dedicated workmen to be out in that weather.  

Sad about the gent that didn't have antifreeze in his old classic car.  Hopefully, it didn't cause any long term damage.

He seemed to thing he'd got away with it.    I went early this morning and was gutted,   it was -4c at home and over the park I'm sure it was colder and foggy.    Tried to get some fog shots but I doubt they will be what I want.  Landed second battery as id been getting wind warnings when there was none and it was craving a but flying,   Noticed that the props were iced up so I called it a day,    But as I packed up I could hear something strange.    Then it stopped.   I left and about 10 minutes later a lovely old steam train passed me by,   engulfing me in the steam.     It will return later at 10:50pm.

Sometimes it really is all about the timing.  Maybe you'll catch the steamer on the return trip.

Was out this morning and again the props froze,  couldn't even fly for 2 mins,  but with the new props fitted I actually got a warning that the props may be frozen.

Seems like all the moisture from the fog coupled with the cold weather is no doubt creating that problem.  It is easier to keep the batteries warm by keeping them in your pocket but hard to keep the props warm when you need them rotating. I wish I could send you some of the warm weather here but then you wouldn't want the daily gusts we've been having.

Well we finally got a little snow,   about 28mm was forecast and it feels about what we had.    And of course the world ended,  the schools closed,  there were a dozen car   crashes on one little local hill.

Ahhh, that brings back memories.  When I was stationed at a base just north of Chicago I remember the first snowfall of each year and all the accidents, school closings, etc.  Takes the drivers a couple of weeks to get accustomed to driving on ice and snow again and also for the road maintainers to get back into a normal routine with salt and sand on the roads, etc.

I saw a great crash.  car comes down hill,  gets scared and stops,  car comes down behind it and hits in the rear,  they did even try and steer around the stopped car.

Sounds a little bit like Demolition Derby.  I'm sure the body repair shops love this type of weather.  More business, more money.
