Or like the time I embedded a video for a poster and got a not so nice PM saying if he wanted to put the video in the post he would have but he preferred to drive people to his YT channel.  I tried to explain to him that even though it is watched in the forum it counts against YT views but he was having no part to it.  Hence, I'm very careful about embedding videos for posters.

Ok, I think I will keep doing it.
You can't do this 'on purpose' on the forum (not show the preview), this is only possible by mistake.
At least, to my best knowledge.
The only way to prevent this from happening is disabling viewing on external sites (which can be done in the youtube editor.

It is easy to do if you use a shortcut URL and then it doesn't show in the forum.  I've see DAFlys instruct several people on how to use a full YT URL vice a shortcut.

The only reason I asked that was I remember a couple of the posters responding that they used Google Chrome browser and weren't having problems with the shortcuts.  I use the Brave browser as it is the highest rated browser and most secure.  I've found it to be fast, secure, and it is privacy-focused by default.  Since Google got caught snooping in the incognito mode of their browser I avoid it completely.

For me most of the browsing is done in Chrome because I like how it works.
Just for some stuff I use Edge and for other stuff Firefox.
None is perfect, but combined I get what I feel is best.

Sounds like you have figured which browser for which function works best for you.  I'm sure that you have picked up on some of my posts that I'm concerned with privacy issues and for that reason I avoid Google as a search engine and many of their products.

Google can be really scary considering all the data that they gather and now they are heavy into AI.  At least the federal government is keeping an eye on them which is good to know.

It has downsides for sure.
Especially the AI part.

Google is one of the most hated companies here in the states and they've earned that distinction.
