I doubt it as they haven't updated the support page yet - https://developer.dji.com/mobile-sdk/

SDK not even in the Road Map.

The Air2S customers is disappointed

Will it be via “virtual sticks” or can you upload the mission to the craft to execute it by itself even during signal loss like Mavic 2 does? I guess is too soon to know.

Thanks for sharing Niknik.  This is a very nice demo of the new waypoints.  

I wonder if in the future, drone work will be performed by "drone programmers" who would  take orders for programming waypoints for a video production company and could even be located in a different part of the world and then the onsite operator with basic knowledge of drone flying would just load the waypoint prepared by the professional waypoint programmer and just execute it. Maybe this is something already being done and just was not aware of it

I wonder what selections are available for signal loss option, if there is a selection to continue executing waypoint , then this is not virtual sticks imho, if the only options are RTH and Hover, then it seems it's virtual sticks, but still awesome to have Waypoints finally available.

It is "virtual sticks".  It requires you to fly to the points to record them, & it will require RC contact to fly the mission.

First of all virtual sticks uses DRONELINK and LITCHI, but You can record them offline. when the mission is not done and Your remote turns off the mission stop.  As you can see in the above photo it has the option to continue the mission if something like this happens. Because the mission each time is loaded onto the drone itself. Don't forget this time the waypoints are in the firmware of the drone. With litchi etc., there was not a firmware like this in the Air 2S or previous drones.

Also You can record the waypoints using only the DJI RC or RC PRO  and maybe the mobile app without the connection - power on of the drone itself.

He is correct, new waypoints on M3 are a lot different. You can plan and set now without drone being turned on and no longer do you need to fly the course “mission” its a huge improvement from old dji waypoints.

nah its good.  take your time, sit down with your drone.  planning waypoints takes significant thought an time anyway.  but it can all be done without flying.

You hav the option if lost signal to hover RTH land or continue so its not virtual stick.

First of all, there is no SDK out Yet so LITCHI or any other app does not support anything of the Mavic 3 IT CANT EVEN SEE IT. Tomorrow I will demonstrate it to my waypoint review video

I watched the tutorial.  The Waypoint planner looks good  & I see the option to continue on signal loss.  Unfortunately he did not actually test & demonstrate that continuing works as advertised.   Also concerning that it aborted a mission & stopped when encountering an obstacle while set to Bypass.

Yes, it could have an option to brake or bypass if an obstacle is on its way inside the mission. Maybe they will add it later.

I will check tomorrow.  It looks like it does continue the mission when disconnected, when that options selected.  Hopefully dji never removes it...

I hsve made already three missions with lots of waypoints and lots o settings and never had a problem, It's the first day, and haven't run them but all ok up to now.

What remote are You using? used both DJI RC and RC PRO without any issues.

Both of your statements are completely wrong!

Is there a max distance between waypoints or total mission ?

Also I assume the app will stop you planning a route that quite obviously does not have the battery to complete or maybe not ?

Are you talking about RC battery ? Because you don’t need aircraft on to program , its basically the same as litchi now and I would say it’s probably a step ahead .

Tested today. Works flawlessly. made 10 waypoints and when I hit go when it started to go to the first waypoint I turn off the remote and it completed the mission and came back.

The problem is if this happens and there is an obstacle in its way yes it sees it and it stops only even in bypass so You must try to find it or wait to trigger an rth with low battery.

There is plenty of battery. Else if the mission is too big either You save it and continue with a new batteries or do this without the drone powered on.
