The Weathervane has been installed.


Saw they had finally fitted the weathervane yesterday,  and it brought a big smile to my face.    The vane was originally erected in 1785, and in January 2021 appeared on the Repair Shop TV show being restored.   The church has now managed to raise the funds to have it re-instated on the roof.

I always wonder if that show is 'for free' or if you have to pay them anyway.

Thanks DT,  that was 3pm pm on Saturday. So I guess they had gone home,  although I suspect they will be back and more work looks needed.

I though with the light in that shot that it might have been mid-morning.  

Lovely! Nice that the old weathervane has been restored. I think it's great when the character of old buildings is maintained and preserved.

I haven't seen that edition of The Repair Shop yet. Looks like they did a grand job.

Ive never watched it myself,    We tend to only have the Tv on between 7-9pm so are quite selective with which crap we pick.

I think it was a bit of a 'fake' show, with too much going on in one building and not enough reality.
But I could be wrong and it was fun to watch parts of it.

Actually since I took that Ive seen two other shots that beat me to it.  One I think was taken with a telescope though so the quality was low.

No sign of them again today either but then it is -2c,    they are probably doing the warm jobs a the moment.
