In this project I relied on the DJI RS 3 for stabilisation: It’s a fitness-commercial, I’ve shot for a friend of mine. I used a Sony ZV-e10 with a Sirui 35mm f1.8 anamorphic lens - which the RS3 could handle with ease.. In addition to that, I added a few drone-shots with my Mini3 Pro - oh man, I love this toy..
But there where a couple of things I’ve learned during the shoot:
always(!) check the ground you are running on! (I almost plunged with my complete rig/gimbal setup, while shooting a running scene at an outdoor fitness park)
deliberately choosing your gimbal speed for each shot is vital! (super slow, for the more wide shots, and a fast speed in sport mode for the more handheld like workout-shots)
when filming outside - you need a suitable (big and bright) external monitor - otherwise it’s nearly impossible to pull focus on a manual lens like the Sirui 35mm..
and the DJI-smartphone holder came in quite handy, because so I could easily look up my shoot-list and other notes on my smartphone, while mounted to the RS3
But let’s get into it! Todays the day and the first video of my newly launched video-production company goes online!
The video premiers today (Dec. 11th, 22) live on YouTube! It starts at 6pm CET (Vienna time, UTC+1) - so join us live at the premiere and let me know what you think! Your feedback is very welcome!
