I've just bought a 2nd hand Phantom 4 Pro Plus and my DJI GO app is having problems connecting to the network. I'm trying to update my basemaps but I constantly get a 'download failed - network error' issue.
My version is DJI GO 4 v4.3.14(8-dpad) and it does show a very coarse vector basemap but nothing that is usable and no satellite imagery.
The device connects to the internet as I can use the browser to connect to the web, just nothing from the app.

Any ideas?

It's the 300E controller with the built in screen. I have reinstalled the firmware and the DJI GO app and now Mapbox is just black with no maps at all. It gives me the option to download maps but the speed is at less than 1kb/s and just isn't working.

Hello DJI Friends...

WELL, Same Problem like Steve  here..

What is happen.  
MY DJI Pro4 Remotecontroller  ( controller with Display )  have Super connection to the
WORLD WIDE WEB  @ my home.

I could open the Browser  and surf on google, search some  and even pictures would be show
well, i see everthing that i looking for with google.

BUT.. i can`t connect to the DJI Servers maybe?

First @ all - i can`t Sigin In.
My Mail and Passwords are 100 % correct - but allways i see
"Network unviable , Check your Internet connection"

BUT there is the INTERNET.   The Remote Controller is not see DJI Network, i think.

How i could fix it? No Sign in, no Flight...

now the Remote try to download the "non flightzone" but of course - they could not download it.

I Install the last Firmware for this remote controller - But 0
How i could see if there is everythink ok with the installed firmware? maybe there is an problem?

I install it via SD-Card


if i try to sign in and press on "Terms and Privacy Policy" the controller shows me - that the Webside is not available  - and than of course the network error...

I was allways login with my user Name, till son press dissconnect.

It is sooo strange.

Ok first @ all - it`s done. Remote controller could connect to dji Servers and YES i could sign in and YES the remote controller could download the "non Fly Zones"


What i did.

Well, it is sooo strange, because the remote controller could visit and display all websides that i search
with google.

Than i try to visit an side by typ the WWW adress in the Browser app.
AND tata  the webside is not aviable.

hmmm ok

So i turn on "WiFi Share" on my cell phone disconnect from home Wifi and connect to my Mobile with the remotecontroller.
AND it works.

Soo

I don`t understand why, but it looks ok for me.

Thank you for keeping us posted. The HERE maps do not support offline map download at present. We are communicating with other map application providers on providing offline map downloads in future versions. If the Amaps app is used when the language settings are not set to simplified Chinese, the HERE maps app may fail to be initialized. We suggest refreshing the firmware, or restoring the factory settings of the RC and check if the issue persists. Please keep us posted. Thank you.

Hi All, same issue here with my Phantom 4 Pro +...  The controller is well connected to WiFi, and I am able to navigate through the browser... HOWEVER I can not download offline maps because it says 'Check your network connection'.  What is going on?...  This is a extremely basic task to be done but I have this error, and I just updated the firmware of the controller.  Please HELP. I am abroad, outside the US, and I can not  take the controller to any local office.  I need a solution remotely please.  Thank you in advance

For those that might not know, a few years ago DJI released the drone killing firmware update, V 01.05.0600.
For me it made the drone unflyable as the screen just pixelated constantly, froze, showed garbage etc... no matter how far away the drone was, even within arms reach.
5GHz just reports "no signal" even though I can fly around as far away as I can see the drone (the screen is useless). Maps simply don't work at all, regardless of wifi.
This was reported by many people, and... for relevance... a lot of them reported issues with maps as well as other things I've read here on this post.
It has been reported to DJI many many times but they don't care. Their response is to make sure you install this version, install it again if there are issues, and if that doesn't fix it to "send it in for repair"... $$$
DJI are well aware that version V 01.05.0600 has totally ruined a lot of P4P+ drones, and they know why. Drones sent in for repair come back suddenly working with that dud version, but they won't do an update.
The only way I got my drone flyable again, but still with some issues (the 5GHz signal still reports no signal but I can fly miles away...), was to use 3rd party software to put an older working version back in.
People who did the same got their maps back to working like they were before.
To the person who bought the second hand one, maybe you're finding out why they sold it.

Thank you for your kind response.  I was able to fix the problem after updating the firmware again of my controller...  Now I have another trouble, if you can help me please:

I have a Phantom 4 Pro+ V2 drone.. and I have not been able to create a fly mission so far.  Honestly I am getting a bit frustrated with all the troubles I've bee having.  I live in Ecuador and I do not have any apps available that I can use in this geographical region to create flight missions... Please, any help will be appreciated. Apparently the DJI GS Pro app for iPhone is not available anymore.

We don't have any recommended application for mapping to your DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2. The only mapping application we have that is compatible with your drone is the DJI GS Pro.
