Holiday Cheer from the DJI Mini 3 / Pro

When is going to be available? Or you can download the cheer now? And how do you activate?

Interesting gimmick.

He said he had beta firmware,  and I see Hendrik at Techdronemedia also has it too.

Not for me either DT, but it was nice to see a sense of humour coming out of china.

You are right about that.  Humor is not a daily occurrence in their culture.  Stoic is a term that comes to mind as fitting for that culture.

It did make me wonder when I saw there was a new mini 3 firmware yesterday if thats going to be an easter egg for tomorrow.    I may have to squeeze in an early flight to see.

I did a short flight this AM after updating but I really didn't see any performance difference whatsoever.  So I still have no idea what issues they fixed.  I don't plan on buying or using prop covers so that was of no use to me.

Prop cover or prop guards - they just launched both.  the cover is like the mini2 one.

They look huge compared to the ones for the Mini and Mini 2.

They do seem unnecessarily big,   Im wondering if there is a particular use case they are going to aim these at.

That's a great question.  would be interesting to know what use case DJI had in mind when the manufactured these.   They just seem like more of a wind catcher being so big.  I'm sure they'll limit the distance and altitude when in use just like for the Mini and Mini 2.

Shouldn't be much wind in doors though,  I think using these outside would be daft,    and they wouldn't do much to protect against stray branches for example.

I hear you on that but I did see quite a few newbies using prop guards back when the Mini was announced.  If memory serves me right the Fly More Kit included a prop guard.  

Anyway, you will not see any on my Mini 3 Pro.
