I'm attempting to fly a waypoint flight that is slow and in a controlled environment.  During the flight my Mavic 3 is required to fly several feet away from a tree.  When the drone gets close to the tree it stops, and on my screen I receive the message "obstacle detected, waypoint flight suspended".  I have tried turning off obstacle avoidance, I've tried flying in sport mode, but I get the same result every time.  I'm wondering if this is something I am doing wrong, or if it's a limitation in using waypoints.  In the most current manual, it suggests that one should be careful using waypoints with obstacle avoidance turned off, indicating that it will fly with it off, but I can't make it work.  If anyone can confirm this, and/or offer any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Id be very careful if you do manage to turn it off,  it sounds like you are flying too close to objects to trust gps,  it's not that accurate at least without specialist kit like an RTK module.

There is not a way to turn off the avoidance in a waypoint flight. I suspect that is the biggest reason (almost 360 degree avoidance) the Mavic 3 has the waypoints and not the "lesser" drones. As I think about it, I don't think it should be disabled in a waypoint flight since it is an autonomous flight and the operator is not "at the helm"  to prevent it from hitting stuff during a waypoint flight

Hi, TheOriginalGreg. Thank you for reaching out. Before starting the mission, please check the APAS behavior in the Safety Settings. When it is set to Bypass or Brake, the aircraft will perform the braking action when it encounters an obstacle. When it is set to off, the aircraft will not be able to avoid obstacles. We hope this helps. Thank you for your support.
