Using the bundled Rc controller with the mini 3 Pro and its great. Is anyone here using the pro variant? I keep being tempted by the better screen (brighter and lifts shadows so we can see scene better). If so, what are your thoughts and do you have any images of it in use you could share?

RC Pro is better in literally every respect, except for being heavier and costing 3.5 times more. A lot more button customisation possibiltes with the C3 and 5d buttons that the RC doesn't have.

Things I don't like - battery is worse (likely due to brighter screen). Why didn't they stick more juice in it? Only part that I would feel and notice upgrading to this.

I can fly at least four batteries in my 2S. As for the rest, it's the difference between a Chevette and a Corvette! NO COMPARISON!!

I have the RC PRO Controller……. That I use with my Air 2S and Mini 3Pro.  Yes it is expensive but you get what you pay for. I am very happy with this controller and all it can do.  I’m now just waiting for DJI to release the M3 Classic (drone only)

Same here, on a very bright day the RC Pro uses roughly 15% of battery charge for every 30-32 minute flight on the Mavic3. Most importantly, my observation is the RC Pro's battery gets fully charged considerably quicker than the RC, when using the same charger.

Im really enjoying how light the DJI RC is compared to the Smart Controller I have.    Makes hiking with it much nicer.

Unfortunately it is still showing as "Reserve" only.  No idea why it isn't available for purchase and shipment.

No doubt the extra 300 Nits pull more juice from the battery.  However, l can still fly 4 full batteries on my Mini 3 Pro before I have to recharge the RC Pro.  HDMI out is a plus among the many other features not available on the RC.  Yeah, it does cost more, but worth it to me.

Yes, from time to time, as have the RC Pro already I bought for my mavic 3 (an essential upgrade to be fair), as well as having the rc for the mini 3.  The RC pro is quite a different experience, as others have said extra customisation, brighter screen (not had issues to date with the rc but haven't used it in bright light yet as got relatively recently in the winter) and very much a premium product, but as you'd expect for something 3 times the price or the rc!  I wouldn't have bought the RC Pro just to use for the mini 3, and being it costs more than the mini 3 pro by itself, but handy to be able to interchange the controllers, or just bring the mini 3 pro along when using the mavic 3.  The Rc is a bit laggy sometimes compared to the RC pro, but not what I'd say was an issue.  The RC is a lot better than using the standard controller with a phone or tablet, and with the latest DJI Fly you can cache maps more easily now offline (like on google maps) but the maptiler source is still rubbish compared to the phone versions of DJI Fly, which is irrirating even on the RC Pro still.  The RC pro also has slightly greater functionality with the playback of videos and panorama stitching and viewing, HDMI output, as well as being able to load 3rd party apps on the controller like AirData, UAV Forecast etc although no other apps can be used for actual flying of the Mini 3 Pro or Mavic 3 yet re lack of SDK. Let's not get into another thread about that though here!

Possibly not a useful comparison for a UK poster? :-)

For me and i am just procrastinating at present, i want it as the bright screen appeals but more so it will mean i can use my DJI Goggles (v1) what is putting me off is that it does not work for the P4P v1 else i would have had them well before now.

If you have the DJI RC already, consider this then, having a brighter screen, more programmable, 3rd party apps, i would like to think that its faster too so less software lag, better quality screen recording, but one major thing is the adjustable antennas, no longer would you need to hold the RC flat when at a distance, that in itself is so much better for viewing the screen over the DJI RC, the screen is slightly bigger too, not by much, but it is.

Internet access!!!! Third party apps, brighter screen. If you can afford it …… buy it, you wont be disappointed.  The only thing I’m not happy with is the volume, it’s just to low.

Thanks. And if the only drone you fly with is the M3P? Still worth it?

Question...I know the rc pro is heavier but is it exactly same size as the dji rc? Trying to work out if I'll be able to fit it in bag like dji rc manages just now.

No its not, its bigger

DJI RC Dimensions (L×W×H)
Without control sticks: 168.4×123.7×46.2 mm
With control sticks: 168.4×123.7×62.7 mm

DJI RC Pro Dimensions
183.27×137.41×47.6 mm (antennas folded, controllers not mounted)
183.27×203.35×59.84 mm (antennas unfolded, controllers mounted)

Even the screen is slight bigger, only talking a few mm but you cannot use a RC Pro screen protector on a DJI RC as its too big, or vice versa as its too small.

One other thing to note, if using FCC mode, 5.8ghz is 33dbm as opposed to 26dbm with the DJI RC

Question for all, does 33dbm  = 33x 1mw?

No, dB (decibels) is a logarithmic scale (comparator of two power levels)...
10 dB more is a tenfold increase
20 dB more is a hundredfold increase
30 dB more is 1000 ...
