hi, so I was flying my drone in Germany and Switzerland, and on both of the flights, I lost signal in less than 300 meters.
I tried to change the drone to FCC mode, but still only 300 meters, not even close to what DJI has advertised.
I asked the DJI online support, and all they gave me was trying to fly in different places and some stuff that wasn't really helpful.
does anyone know how to fix this? thank you!

Hi there, we are sorry for any inconvenience. May I ask which remote controller you're using? Please also tell us if the firmware is up to date.

Try flying in a more remote are and see if it makes any difference.

the motion controller. i update it when ever there is an update, so I'm pretty sure it's on the newest version

May I ask whether the flight environment is open and clear, and whether there is any interference (such as a communication base station, a transmission line tower, and so on). Please check whether there is any obstacle between the remote controller and the aircraft. If there is, we recommend that you go to another flight location and try again. Please also note that the remote controller is toward the direction of the aircraft to shorten the communication distance.

I have this problem too, flying in zurich

Same issue, tryed on different spot and also up to date.
Around 300-350m I just lost almost instantly the connection, even above a plain field.
I'm with Googles 2 and motion controller.
I'm in North-East of France.

FCC is the American standard it allows longer range, and CE is the standard for European countries and has a much shorter range.

Everybody here in UE are flying FPV in FCC mode.

You must get it into FCC mode ... there are a few ways to do this on the Avata...but its straightforward. Once you do that you will have nearly 3-4 km range

I have the avata in fcc mode,  but range is still poor.

Have it set to d-cinrlike, 4k 60fps.
Starts at 50mbps, but all of a sudden drops really quick.

Had the fcc mode with the empty file on the sd.

Dit firmware upgrades after that (up to date)

I checked if i have the channels available

When i fly 50 meters away and go behind a couple of trees, the signal drops to 15 mbps or even less.

Do i have to re activate the fcc hack?
Can i do anything else.?

Obviously this is pretty low to the ground (around 1 to 2 meters), antennas on the goggles 2 up and pointing towards the drone.

Other than that i love the avata! Even in sports mode with the fpv controller 2!

same problem here... germany.. open place.. some trees.. at 200-250m or 25m above ground video signal lost... brand new avata/goggles2/rc2/mc2.. all up to date patched

The same issue in my Avata.
MAX 400-500m and signal lost in field, between trees i lost signal about 100m …
Its sad and I Am a little confused.

I also have FCC mode but not better

I am reading a lot of range issues lately....

Again, FCC hack applied, number of channels checked... all on auto

i saw video's of avata's flying in forrests and on industrial places around buildings and thru buildings and such..... (and all at a hundreds of meters distance)
that is impossible for me!!!

i am afraid that even though it looks like my avata is in FCC mode, .... it actually is NOT

even in an open field, signal suddenly drops at around 200 - 250 meters away.

At about 300m, as soon as I bring it down with just trees, I start losing it, and what worries me even more is that it's considerably worse with walls/rocks.
I'm flying with the Googles 2. Even with the "mod" to switch it to FCC, I barely notice any improvement.

Did a test the other day.
Took my avata and mini 2 on a flight.
Open field with just some trees at around 100 meters.

had all antennas in correct position, and pointing towards the Avata.
Avata signal was 50mbps, untill i went behind the tree.... it dropped to 5.
Mini 2 was flying same path, but signal was perfect, even way further out than the avata.....

what the h*ll is going on here? Why would the mini 2 have far better signal?!?! (and yes, the avata is in FCC mode, Mini 2 is in CE mode!!!!!!!)

DJI any solution to this? I have my new Avata, RC controller and goggles V2 with new firmware, USA fcc flying open fields, no obstacles, no trees, no transmission lines or any other interference and loosing video signal at 300m - 400m away. Disappointed and waiting for DJI's useful answers.
