Can the Air2s be charged via the USB port on the drone?

No, you cannot. The micro USB port on the DJI Air 2S is for data only, and lacks the amps to be able to charge a large battery.  The battery must be removed, and attached directly to the charger, or to the charging hub.

No it can not. It would have been wonderful if it were though.

Hi, 2Boomers. Thank you for reaching out. As other co-pilots mentioned, you won't be able to charge the battery using the USB-C port on the drone as it can only be used for data transfers and updates. To charge the Intelligent flight battery, please connect it to the charger or battery charging hub to charge the battery. Connect the charger to the charging port of the remote controller with a USB Type-C cable to charge the remote controller. Thank you for your support.
