On a recent flight over suburban areas, the drone was about 2 kilometres away, 20-30 metres up, and the ground was flat No police stations or government buildings in the area. I was moving at about 50kph

The drone stopped moving, and I got a message my signal was being jammed and I should ascent immediately. CORRECTION - the message was "Blocked" not "Jammed"
However, the sticks wouldn't respond. After overcoming the "OH NO!!!" feeling, I checked the screen and saw there was still plenty of charge in the battery, and I still had GPS.
I was thinking that when the battery level dropped, it would RTH, but I wasn't certain.
So, I repeatedly moved the sticks and pressed RTH. After a few seconds (seemed like a minute), the RTH prompt popped up, I pressed it, and RTH kicked in.

Do you think RTH would have kicked in automatically if I had waited a while (as I had GPS), or would it have landed?

Update: Looks like my bad. In my panic I misremembered the message. I have found the flight log and it was the signal is "blocked" not "Jammed"

What was the specific error message?  Did it actually say you were being jammed or just that there was interference between the RC & drone?  The latter is normal if you go beyond range, behind an obstacle, etc..  I have never seen a message stating, "Your drone is being jammed."

LOL wait until they hit it with the PB&J.  That stuff makes a real mess of things!

I flew through a swam of bees once (what were they doing 30 metres up??). That took a bit of cleaning

It's just a domestic property. I have no reason to fly that way again.

If you have RTH set to activate on Signal Loss, I'm pretty sure it would have come back to you after the usual delay ( I think it's 30 sec? )

Hi,

Do you mind to upload your flightlog for this jammed flight?
use this link > https://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/Upload/
Post the uploaded link on here

Did you pressed the pause/rth button on the RC or used the softbutton RTH in the flyapp ?

see if that jamming messages is in the log!

Did you screen record this flight ?

cheers

If the drone was actually being jammed, there's no reason to believe that the cause was directly below the drone at the time.

I've heard quite a few people guess that their drone was being jammed, usually there was another explanation.
And never heard of that message.
It would be helpful to see the recorded flight data to see what it shows.
It might help understand whether jamming was or was not involved.

Do you think RTH would have kicked in automatically if I had waited a while (as I had GPS), or would it have landed?
All you need do to trigger RTH is to switch off the controller.

I can't see how the drone would know it's being jammed. Jamming is simply filling the airwaves with signals which overwhelm the C2 link. You should have just been told that you had degraded signal.

Unless Aeroscope has a means of displaying messages on screen, I can't say I've ever seen this message and I fly within 150m of some very high security areas. (US Embassy, Buckingham Palace, Downing Street...)

Hi,

Do you mind to upload your flightlog for this jammed flight?

I would be happy to upload, but I can't find anything on the RC Pro. In fact, it doesn't record videos or photo either.
When I go through the procedure and tap "Audio Files", this is what I get, and hitting the three dots doesn't give me an option to "Show internal storage"

I've heard quite a few people guess that their drone was being jammed, usually there was another explanation.

The reason I believed it was directly below was that it appears jamming devices available to the public are short-range (typically 30 meters) and I was flying 25 or so meters up, so it seemed a reasonable assumption.
I've gone though the RC Rro (using the instructions from Phantom help), but there is nothing.

"All you need do to trigger RTH is to switch off the controller"
Thank you for that

It was in red text on a black background. looked scary.
The Rc Pro was using my phone as a hotspot at the time, I don't know if that made a difference

Yes, that's what I thought. It's possible to jam GPS as well, in which case it would't return, but I have no GPS problems

Can you please fulfil JJB's request to upload the flight logs so we can see the error. Whilst I don't disbelieve you, the warning will be displayed on the logs. If this warning does exist, then it's news to a lot of us and for my company, we'd need to look to risk assess this and set up an emergency process for dealing with this warning.

But that's all there is.

Are the video files on your SD card?
Flightlog are stored on the internal memory

BUT   if you connect the USB cable before the complete startup of the RC is done ; internal memory does not show!!

I missed part of your question. I used the soft button the the screen

imo  best is to use the RC button to activate RTH.

for the non-screen RC users (nor sure for the screen RC) , if the connection mobile device<>RC is bad....pressing the soft button in the app does not activate a RTH. And yes, if you are aware of the hard RC button, no problem.
But it happend that users keep on pressing only the soft button.....

Yes, the videos are non the card.
I connected the RC Pro to my PC via USB, but it's not showing up.
So on the RC Pro, I clicked on "Files" and have had some success.
Under "Document" I have found a bunch of flight records, but they just go from March 22 (when I started using it) to Sep 4 22. Nothing later

Make sure you've synced all your flights within the App. If this flight has been recorded, then you'll see it in the sync list and it will exist on the drone.

I've been there before, it can be a pain to find the logs sometimes.

Hi,

"it will exist on the drone"  uh?

AFAIK flightlogs are only to be found in the FlyApp (so on the mobile device / RC / RC pro)

If you sync logs with DJI, and they are not on the device. Play the video back and the flightlog.txt is copy paste from the server to the device.

Hi,

"it will exist on the drone"  uh?

Badly worded by me.

OP was saying that he couldn't find the logs. If he syncs them and they're visible on the logbook page of the app then he knows the .txt file is in there somewhere.
