My new years resolution is to try and get through the piles of files that I have laying around.
So I will be capturing less, and editing more.
At least that is the idea.

Haha.  Here.too, I'm using the time stuck indoors due to bad weather, to look through old footage.

No doubt there is a valid need for archives.  So easy to shoot more footage than you have time to process for sure.

No doubt about the high res footage eating up storage space.  Recorded a video on my Samsung S22 Ultra in high res and the file size was huge.  Really caught me by surprise when I went to transfer it to my laptop.

Yes we are. But the interesting stuff is not allowed for flying. (natura2000)

Nice looking picture, and a new year's resolution that could come in handy for me, too. I have at least a couple of timelapses I could upload to YouTube, and at least one other video, which is almost ready but would need some translating and subtitling to finish off.

Do you need to scan your files and then put them in big yellow.

Well, they do have 8K TVs out already and I'm sure cameras will follow.  Early adopters will be paying a high price.  Their can't be that many movies filmed in 8K yet so way to early for me to even think about 8K TV upgrade.

Oh yes, very relatable.
Your available time is still limited.
Your skillset needs to be expanded (which takes time and effort).
You find out you are the operator, not the new piece of gear.
And still I keep buying stuff

@DAFlys I was testing the new camera outside when I noticed a lifeliner very low. Landed close by, so I took it with me to do some more fieldtesting.

It's a fast (and expensive) cab for specialistic medical staff to get to an emergency.
I did not film the ambulances (on purpose), but there were 2 standing there busy with an emergency.
The specialist traveled to the hospital with the ambulance and the patient.

Ah that explains it,  we have them here too but usually they dont land without an ambulance. But as you didnt film the ambulance it looked like they might have had a problem with the helicopter.

Yes. Although the battery had some marks from probably a drop. It worked fine. But that was not advertised. Still I figured that getting a new battery (which I have done already, bigger capacity) would still be much cheaper.

I think you were right not to,   although a few drone shots on the helicopter would have been fun.   

I saw the blue lights but it didnt register at the time.

You can never have too many batteries. and im sure it would be easy to drop one.
