Just got a quick question about air travel with the drone & RC remote as I plan to take it with me on a flight soon.

I see that if you are checking luggage, the drone itself can be safely put in checked bags since its battery is removable & the batteries then can be taken in carry on luggage but I am unable to find information about just the RC remote itself. Would it be safe to leave the remote in checked luggage or does it need to be kept in carry on items too since its battery does not seem to be removable?

Thanks

I also had carry the drone, controller and batteries in my carry on.   sometimes they ask you to power it on at the security check to proof the batteries are real but apart from that Ive had no issues.

Many airlines have various policies.  I've found it best to contact the airline(s) that you intend to fly on and see what their requirements are.

It's weird here,    the airlines can have a policy but unless you get it out on the plane they wont know.   It's the airport security that you need to appease and then the airline is totally unaware.

Somewhat similar here, except for small airports.  You know it is a small place when you see a guy take the luggage out and load it on the plane, come back in and escort the passengers to the plane, shut the door to the plane and then go get in the pilot's seat and welcome you to the flight.

Jus flew for the first time with the Mini 3 Pro (all carryon).  Placed the batteries in LIPO protection bags, but encountered no questions at all from TSA or American Airlines (of course, I didn't pull it out on the plane)

I've flown in a lot of small company airlines planes and really have no complaints about them.  Major airlines and all the delays and lost luggage is another story altogether.

I used to work at a company that had their own airline,   it was just two planes to be fair but the service was good and they had a dedicated terminal at Stansted.    One day I arrived for the flight late and was turned away at the checkin desk.      I flippantly told the lady I was pleased as I didnt want to go today,  and she picked up the phone and had the plane wait for me.    The shame was terrible.

I used to have to go once ot twice a week,  I really didnt need to but I had a German boss and he liked to see me.   On the flip side I made a nice little extra on the travel time.

I'm sure that helped make the trip to see the boss worthwhile.

Here a biscuit is something you eat with a cup of tea.

Yeah, something got lost in that translation.

Maybe I should have said getting a free lunch is like the icing on the cake.

Ahh. yes that works better.   I love the system they have in Germany,  you sit down and they come over with cardboard coasters,   you order. and they write the order in the coaster,   when you pay you hand over the coaster so they know what you've had.

That's a downright efficient process.

Yeah, that system is based on trust and honesty.

A guy I knew in the Navy wanted to open a restaurant when he retired.  He opened a local restaurant and was quite successful at it.  After 2 years he sold it and retired.

He said running a restaurant was a no win situation.  People would complain the meat was over or under cooked.  The portions were too big or too small.  The one thing that he said irritated him the most were the people that would eat half of a steak and then have the waitress call him over to complain.  He asked why he had to eat half of the steak before he decided he didn't like it.  The diner told him that he would take his business elsewhere unless he brought him another steak.  He went ahead and had the waitress bring him another steak.  He ate half the replacement steak and then started complaining again.  The owner told him the meal was free but that he was never to return to the restaurant again.  He had the waitress take his picture and post it on the wall of shame behind the hostess area.  This way if he ever returned he would be refused service.

I rarely eat out unless I am traveling.  However, it that situation if I cut into the meat and I don't think it is cooked the way I ordered it I'll ask for it to be redone.  I'd never eat half and then complain.
