A legal requirement I think.

Never ceases to amaze me how laws are so different from country to country.  However, it shouldn't because here the federal laws are the same throughout but each state's laws vary from a little to a lot.  Which is a good reason there is a requirement to pass the bar exam of the state you intend to practice law in.  

I do think having a special chair handy is a superb idea for emergencies.

Just watched a lot of it.
Too bad he did not categorize with an index. I really feel that should be mandatory for getting to a specific topic quickly.
One thing I noticed is that he did not use the mic itself for most of the stuff. He used his boom mic which sounded superb (but hanging overhead).

Seems odd there is such a wide range of reviews for it.

I'm usually struggling to find 'real' user experiences.
Especially since youtube pushes these 'pro' videos. Hiding all the smaller creators. Even when you search specifically.
One thing that sometimes helps is sorting the results. But even then, it gave me so few results, while I'm sure they were there. (since I got to see them later, when YT decided it was the right time)

Yes, that is true.
So far I have sort of 'seen' 3 kind of Mic users.
1. People seem to struggle with recording sound in general
2. People that know how to work with mics and can make any mic sound 'good'.
3. People that have some knowledge of recording sounds but struggle to get decent sound with these smaller mics.

The first category will have issues with any mic. So that is not interesting for me. You can make any mic sound bad if you don't know how to use it.
The second one will use any solution they can get their hands on and combine products as needed.
Not an interesting category for me, since they are much 'better' equipped in knowledge and gear and time. (your video falls in this category) They are more interested in the recording / transmitting / backup / storage / ease of use etc.
The third one is where I would be. I have had some chats with Mic owners that seem to have a decent understanding of recording audio and they are mixed about these smaller mics in general.

I have to dive deeper into this method, since the thing that attracts me to the Mic is the 'all in one' solution. But it looks like a good lavalier mic with a recording device will do a better job.
Or even a big old studio mic. That sounds the best by far.  
I'm more interested in the third category.

He has good tips and everything, but his audio is much better than what others are getting.
And he does not tell what he does to the files after recording. Since that is where the magic also happens.
It's the difference between a pro and consumer I guess.

Mine was delivered Tuesday,  acknowledged Wednesday,   assessed Thursday and then a replacement shipped Friday.   Although UPS didnt collect it until Monday.

There is a lot you can (have to) do usually to mic recordings.
In a way just like with a camera where you have too much dynamic range, the natural sounds have to big range and you want to compress that.
There are also certain techniques that you need to master because (for example) the T and S make a lot of air movement and will quite often stick out way too much. So you have to address that, either physically (with a mesh filter in front of the mic) or in post (if you failed to do so during the recording).

Also there is usually unwanted frequencies that make a sound 'harsh' (too much high) or 'muddy' (low) or 'boxy' (too much mid range) etc.
So you have to take that into account if you want a pleasing sound.
If you listen to your initial review, you can hear his voice has a ton of bass when he uses his overhead mic.
This sounds great (to my ears) but in his other mic tests, this is much less. Even with post processing. These differences are interesting.
But only if you know what the person did to the sound.
I do record our singers quite often and it is a challenge to get that right. Especially since I had no training in this department.

So yes, there is a lot to discover here and with a lot of consumers seeing pro's make great audio from a product..... They get disappointed sometimes.

Same here. But no.
It was interesting to hear the unedited audio. Especially since it did not sound very good. So clearly the 'others' did do some processing OR have better mic techniques.

In essence you are paying for the wireless recording devices. Not the mic.
And while that has a place in a pro setup. It probably is a big overkill for mine 99% of the time. Only when I do interview style shoots maybe. But that happens very very rarely.

I really wanted to like this thing, as it looks so 'Pro' and is designed super well, but if I can't get good audio from it, it is not worth it for me. Not even the smaller package with 1 TX and no charging case.
I think I'm better off buying a lavalier mic. They cost around € 60,- and probably get my job done too.
Or get a studio mic. Good ones are quite a bit more expensive. But they are also a big step above anything you get from a small mic.
With the downside that they are big and only for studio use.

Do you know which one Izzy Swan uses?  He clips that on his had and seems to get good results.
