That’s really good news.
You know, I’ve been testing mine this afternoon alongside my GoPro 11 and I have to say, there’s not a lot between them as far as picture goes. Ever since I got the A3, I’ve been looking way more closely than I normally would and up until I got the A3, never gave the GoPro a good ‘looking at’. Mainly because I was pointing the camera at myself on a stick.
I set the GoPro at minimum sharpening and you know, it was less sharp looking than the A3. Once sharpened up, they were DEAD close. The Action actually needed less sharpening than the GoPro, probably due to the firmware update. I could plainly see that it was sharpened more than the GoPro on Low.
So that has been a surprise for me.
The only real difference is selfie type stuff. And even that wasn’t huge. GoPro slightly better.
The edges of the Action set in 'wide' pull out more than the GoPro in wide. So a different field of view, but I have to say, the Action does well once you really dive in and look closely with something to compare with. For me, the close focus was disappointing, but I’m guessing for Action ski people, that’s not an issue.
it has great colour too by the way. |
