Just switched from the MavicZoom to Mavic Classic, and here are some issues I noticed within the first few flights.


No Tap Fly - this is a big minus for me as a solo creator often filming cars this allowed me to determine kind of a flight path and film without much user input.
SD Card - It's a pain to get the SD car out of the slot
no microphone - pity that you can record audio from the controller

No SDK either.  

You can use cruise mode instead of tap fly and You can set the max speed as well.

Hi, alloffroad. Thank you for your feedback. While it is true that the new DJI Mavic 3 Classic does not have TapFly, it has its new features, too. In this newer drone, POI (3.0) and ActiveTrack (5.0) have been upgraded. It also supports MasterShots for cinematic effects, and Cruise Control enables the aircraft to lock the current control stick input of the remote controller.

About the remote controller (DJI RC), it does have a speaker, but not a built-in microphone. If you have the DJI RC you can use a wired or wireless USB-C mic connected to the HOST port to capture audio.

really some videos I watched they could not get that to work

Active track in all directions works flawlessly but at low speeds like running or with the bike but not at full speed.  And there needs to be no wind or low wind. The more bare trees the lower the speed. Even nifty is faster but because it goes too near in branches You need not make too many changes of courses.

DCRainmakers test on poi tracking was with high winds so Mavic 3s sensors saw that tree but it was moving too fast when Mavic saw the tree top was in the other direction but when it came closer the tree turned to the drone and hit it. So there was no time for the drone to respond but even if it could the algorithm cant avoid moving obstacles, especially when facing to the drone. Even Skydio 2 cant do it.

We cant compare Skydio with Mavic 3 because the one looks after itself but no good video and Mavic 3 is looking for the best video first and after seeing obstacles.

fair points, but given DJI is so much bigger than Skydio you would hope that DJI could match Skydios obstacle avoidance capabilities

As I said more or less it is equally good. But if DJI changes the algorithm to work as Skydio 2 then We will not have a cinematic video. Plus beacon is missing
