My motion controller for DJI Avata discharge every time i turn it off. Every time i shut it off, diods on the controller starts to blink the same way as they blink when charging, the difference is that the controller discharges (at the beggining there are 4 diods blinking, then 3, then 2 etc). Controller heats while doing it. It is not connected to charger. It is charging normally, it connects to the drone and googles. Cant connect it to DJI Assistant 2 (DJI FPV series) - app does not see that the controller is connected.

Automatic discharging when it is off is normal as this is due to the battery characteristics and cannot be avoided. But since your motion controller still has blinking lights after turning it off, that is not normal, can you please provide a video of the operation for further checking? As for the DJI Assistant 2, you will need to use DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series) for the DJI Avata and its accessories. I know it discharges itself, but in this, case its taking about 5 hrs - same as i would use it

My motion controller did not discharge at all....
not even after weeks and weeks of not being used?!

(i have the motion controller 2 on the way, i'll test if that one does discharge)

I'm facing the same problem. My motion controller just won't switch off even after powering off.  Also it is not connecting to avata drone. I purchased the remote controller shortly after buying the drone and have been using it lately with avata from almost a year. At first i thought it could be a firmware issue, as i have not used the motion controller from some time, but something else feels wrong. The motion controller is switching on as normal but does not connect to the drone and does not enter pairing mode when tried. It is heating up pretty fast. Also it is not being recognised by the dji assistant 2, or even the dji fly app. And even after switching it off the lights keep blinking the same as when they blink when charging except it is discharging very fast. It is discharging completely almost within an hour. To be frank the dji assistant has always been a hit and a miss, but the dji fly app almost always connects. Can you please help me out??
