This is more like a FYI thread but I would also like to know how you deal with IMU calibration.
I have my Inspire-1 for about half a year now and I have never ever calibrated the IMU. Even after all previous Firmware upgrades I never did an IMU calibration. The app never told me to, so I kind of didn't want to fix something that isn't broken.


Btw. I do calibrate the compass if I fly at new loaction but thats about it. I think my I-1 is not immune to fly-aways but at least for the last two firmware releases it can't really complain anymore - I don't have any GPS drops or other weird flying behaviour anymore (had those problems initially).

For sure many others are having flawless experiences.
I'm 80% happy with it having avoided a disaster twice, manually.
Luckily enough it did respond to input, so I was good.
Random behaviour comes without notice.

Same here, never have done a IMU and only do compass when needed

The more you calibrate the more chances you have of calibrating wrong. If the bird is doing what it should do, why calibrate? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
