I went to visit King Neptune at Two Rocks, Western Australia, this morning.
On December 26th, 1981, Atlantis Marine Park at Two Rocks officially opened to the public. The park was situated within the Sun City Precinct, a larger development that also included a marina, yacht club, hotel accommodations, and a shopping center. The creation of this unique theme park was the brainchild of the late WA businessman Alan Bond in collaboration with Japan's Tokyu Corporation.
In 1982, artist Mark Le Buse was commissioned to create a grand statue of King Neptune, the Roman God of the Sea. Standing at a towering 10 meters tall. However, despite its initial success, the park faced financial difficulties and was ultimately forced to close its doors in 1990, and the statues, including King Neptune, fell victim to vandalism. But in 2015, the statues were returned to their former glory.
On January 2023, the Sun City Precinct was officially added to the State Heritage Register of. This recognition confirms the importance of the precinct in Western Australia's history and cultural heritage.

Impressive stills and aerial views of the statue of King Neptune. Great job. Glad they were able to restore the statues.
