I just acquired a P3P as a project drone so I could get more hands on experience with repairing and troubleshooting quads. Right now, the camera ribbon has been broken so I've completely disconnected and removed the camera, but not the gimbal/camera circuit board.

My question is: does the camera need to be connected in order for firmware upgrades to complete? I'm not hearing any audible feedback as mentioned by others when I attempt the upgrade. However, I am seeing the red/green lights alternate from the gimbal circuit board.

Here's what I've done:

1. Formatted and sd-card to place in the P3P
2. Downloaded the most recent P3P firmware: 1.11.0020
3. Extracted the zip and moved the bin to the root of the sd-card
4. Inserted sd-card into P3P
5. Turned on p3p (battery was at about 75% at start)
6. Waited....(lights on board alternate green/red)
7. Waited.....(lights on board flash green)
8. Waited......(lights on board flash green/red) <-- 7 & 8 repeat throughout the entire waiting period
9. Guide says it should take no more than 25 min to complete; I've waited for about 30 min
10. Removed sd-card and plugged back into computer - there was no txt file with status.
