Mounting & Balancing Step 2: Is it true the balance should be with my iphone in the face down position?


I have seen youtube tutorial that state to place in the horizontal (screen facing the user) rather than the screen face down to reduce the drive motor effort to hold the iphone in the horizontal position.

Understand it should be basede upon the null position of the motor to  reduce the drive signal / battery power to maintain this null position. Perhaps the system takes into account that the face down is not actually the null position.

Question - is the manual correct or not?
