Just thought I would share an example of the quality of photo I am getting with my new Osmo Action 3.  All three examples are jpeg files converted from the original 17.8 MB 1280X720 .dng photo. There is the original photo from the vantage point of my airplane wing strut showing the hangar directly ahead with the fuel truck to the left and a portion of the airplane cowling on the right.  The next two photos were cropped from the original to show the resolution more clearly.

These are actually pretty bad. Also, you said "...from the original 1280 x 720 DNG". Well, using 4:3 aspect, the photos are 4000 x 3000. Not sure how did you manage to get a 1280 x 720 "original DNG" out of the camera because even at 16:9 mode it should be 4000 x 2250 (or something like that). Of course DNGs tend to be a little worse quality than JPGs. I always have to apply some amount of sharpening. But shooting JPGs are quite decent (especially if there's plenty of sun). And yes, the edges usually are a tad out of focus due to the wide lens so I always try to put the main subject towards the middle and not concerned about the corners/sides.

I think @hallmark007 he should ask he can give some tips on his awesome shots out of this camera

Can't answer that about the format.  The properties/details and another app I have say the photos are 1280X720 .dng files as they came off the camera.  Maybe someone can explain it but I'm certainly no expert on that.  I'll take some more to see if I can get a different result.  And I agree they look pretty bad.  But again, I'm no expert but I have had better results with older video cameras that also do photos.
Edit:OK.  I just did a few more photos using RAW and JPG and each time the .dng is 1280X720 and the .jpg is 4000X2250.  Does that answer anything?

They do look rather disappointing, TBH.

I believe Fish had this issue before (or someone else). It seems to be a Windows issue that it's interpreting the DNG dimensions incorrectly. Here's an old thread I found:

https://forum.dji.com/thread-52930-1-1.html

Maybe try a few JPGs. They should give better quality.

That sounds reasonable and I did look at that thread.  Thanks for the heads up.  Will continue to evaluate this new camera
