Hi Everyone,
looking though a bunch of Avata reviews and tests, they all are telling us that the Avata can not go sidways and can not go vertical with the motion controller.
Hhmm, I have been skimming though the various DJI videos about the Avata and they show the vertical ascend and descend.
I tried it the other day with the motion controller and it works perfectly.
Is this something new then?

Hi, Fpvskip. Thanks for reaching out and sharing your experience with the DJI Avata and the DJI Motion Controller. Here are the movements supported when the DJI Motion Controller is used:

It can do a vertical ascend and descend. Moreover, it can only change its orientation by tilting left and right but not flying sideways.
Note: DJI Avata is a ducted fan UAV whose propellers spin in a fixed duct. Thus, if the wind speed is high and the drone flies at a high altitude, please be cautious and avoid flying it up or down too quickly.
Should you have further concerns, please reach back here at DJI Forum. Thank you, and have a nice day.

Any chance you could add an option to use the side-toggle to ascend and descend? It's currently used to move the camera up and down, but in FPV mode no one needs that. If we could ascend and descend using that toggle, we could make great videos WHILE ascending or descending in FPV mode. As-is, the video is crap as we have to actually look up to see of the drone is in ascend mode or not.
