Hi pilots

I am developing a new version of the Quadcopter mod for GTA V.
Quadcopter-Redux is a real FPV drone simulator using the GTA game as rendering engine.
My goal is to bring new features to this simulator. Come and enjoy the huge map of GTA V, the perfect playground for flying a drone.

The mod supports radiocontrollers, including the DJI FPV radio, you can bind axes and switches in the menu.
Currently only Manual (acro) flight mode is supported.
You can set you rates in the 'Actual' rates profile like the DJI FPV or Avata.
OSD will show you you the Home point like in DJI goggles.
New features are under development.

I don't know if it works with a DJI RC plus, as I don't have this radiocontroller to test.
In general if it is recognized as a joystick or HID by Windows, I would say yes.

I can only confirm that it works with the DJI FPV Remote Controller 2 (the one for the Avata or the DJI FPV drone).
It also works with the following radios I could test : tango 2, betaflight literadio SE 2.

Concerning a multiplayer mode, for the moment it is not integrated.
But I could eventually do it. This will require an investment to pay the hosting of a server.
We'll see in the future if it interests people and if I manage to collect funds to do it.


To use this mod :
- You need of course the GTA 5 game (no matter where it comes from, steam, epic platforms or standalone and others...)
- You need to install ScriptHook (a library that allows to interact with the game)
- You also need ScriptHookVDotNet (an extension of the library to use the .NET technology)
- And the Quadcopter-Redux mod (it's a bunch of dll files)

To install ScriptHook and ScriptHookVDotNet it's very simple, you just have to download these 2 zip files and extract the content in the directory where your game is installed.
To install Quadcopter-Redux, you just have to extract also the content in the game directory.

Voila, it's very simple, just launch the game as usual in story mode, and press numpad_1 to enter the drone (check the hotkeys and helps on the download link of Quadcopter-Redux), bind your radio axes and settings in the mod menu and go to fly.

Attention, the use of mod for GTA 5 is not official but it is tolerated as long as you stay in the offline story.
If you want to play GTA online, make sure to uninstall scripthook first.

A lot of new features, here is a summary of the features you can find in the latest version 1.6.0 released today:

- Direct support of HID type radio controls (compatible with most radios)
- Significant improvement of the drone physics
- Fully configurable physics allowing to obtain different behaviors
- Possible configuration and saving of several drone presets
- Acro and Angle flight mode
- Supports Betaflight, Kiss, Actual and RaceFlight rate types
- Saving of 3 rate profiles
- OSD type telemetry display
- Improved sound of the drone
- Possibility to play missions (vehicle chasing type for now) and to create races or urban rodeo with all kind of vehicles (sports car, motorcycle, quad, helico, plane, boat, jetski)
- Added a menu with a list of nice spots particularly interesting to fly in drone (freestyle, cruising, fun...)
- Added configurable weapons and possibility to shoot missiles, bullets or create explosions with bind possible on the radio

Make sure the files are in the right place.
For the ScriptHookV zip archive, it is the content of the bin folder that you have to put in the root of the game. Here is for example what you should normally find in the root of the GTA game:

I´ve had messed up installing ScriptHookVDotNet...

I have Virtual Flight, Liftoff and Tryp. This mod is the best simulator i´ve tried so far!

Brillant work!  

I hope someone comes with setting presets to simulate real drones.

It's been a while since I flew with the Avata but with the nice weather coming back I'll be able to fly it again to try to reproduce the behavior and find good settings for this drone in the simulator.

Otherwise and for info the next version 1.8.0 will be released soon and will bring a race system with race tracks, checkpoints, scores...

"Currently only Manual (acro) flight mode is supported."  Does this mean the only way I can fly with this sim is if my DJI Controller 2 is put into manual mode?

I'm in GTA 5 and everything's working! However, the throttle on my controller in mode 2 is moving left to right, and I can't get it to be up/down like mode 2 settings. Is this because my DJI Controller 2 isn't currently setup for "Manual flying" (removing back of controller and adjusting screws etc.)?

In latest version there is 2 flight modes : "acro" (Manual) and "angle", a non stabilized mode that looks like normal or sport on dji but that we find more specifically on regular FPV drones where the camera is fixed (no gimbal to automatically compensate the tilt when moving.
I plan to add a stabilized mode to simulate the behavior of a real normal or sport mode as on the dji.

For your controller maybe it's because the axis assigned to the throttle in the controller menu doesn't match. Can you send me a screenshot or tell me the values you use for the axes in the controller menu?

hi, it doesnt work for me , when i start gta v  it saysuadcopter Redux loaded,  on F4 i can access ScripthookV menu, but press g  nothing happens. can someone help me ?  Thanks

If you see the "quadcopter-redux loaded" message in the upper-left corner, everything is ok.
But on some systems there is a permission access issue because the GTA folder can be read only and ScriptHookV and Quadcopter-Redux at startup try to write their settings or log files if they doesn't exists yet in this folder.
Try going into the security of the GTA folder and give it write access.  
(The Steam version should fix this but I know that this problem can be encountered on the versions coming from the Rockstar Games Launcher, I have no feedback yet on the Epic store versions)

does anyone have near realistic settings for physics for dji avata ?

Best mod ever  standard setting are realistic ? i would like to have similar to AVata
