Hi DJI / All,

Just wanted to ask if it's possible for active track to have a selectable position of where to keep the subject in regards to the screen. For instance, instead of subject that is
followed by default being in the center of the frame, is it possible to have it to the left of the center or to the right of the center of the frame and the same with height , to be able to choose the position of the subject being heigher up than the center of the screen or below the center. It is great that the Mavic 3 is able to follow subjects and automatically centering the subject, but it's good to have flexibility imho where to place the subject in relationship to the center of the frame as it creates nice cinematic look to it and draws viewers attention to the subject better, i.e. following the rule of thirds.

Thank you in advance, Mike.

Yes, I think so too, imho the drone would keep the subject of active track , parallax in a center of the frame, even if you paint the subject with your finger making it located on a side , the drone would auto center it. Just thought it would be nice to have an option to follow while keeping the subject not in center but to the left or to the right of the center and / or higher or lower than the center to create cinematic videos this way...

Take care, Mike.

You are asking for far more than possible with the existing design. Be happy that the M3 can track at all, especially at speed.

Yes sounds like it Gary, you are right on that, I overall do enjoy how Mavic 3 does track with latest Active Track (I think it's Active Track 5 if not mistaken).

Take care, Mike.

Yes agreed Drey, overall Active Track is great on Mavic 3 , I do enjoy Active Track 5 (if not mistaken with the version number), I do live the drone sort of unattended with letting it follow from behind for example, but I have to ensure there are no leafless thin tree branches and electrical wires , those are dangerous for any drone imho...

Take care, Mike.

Yeah even the Skydio can’t take care of that.

I’d like to set a GPS point as an option instead of selecting a box around an object. The map’s pin would be a useful tool for that.  In any mode where you select an object this should be optional to selecting a point on the map.  I know there’s a hack to selecting an object then moving your drone until it switches to a gps position mark, but that’s extremely unreliable and in my experience only happens 1/10th of the time.

That's a good idea dronethemoment imho. I am also hoping that for future DJI iteration of Mavic , maybe DJI could also release a GPS beacon for tracking.

That GPS Beacon idea is great!!  It may not be as useful as the map pin because you’ll have to physically plant it and retrieve it.

Thank you, I was actually thinking about active track, I think you are talking more about POI for pin drop.
