As I am now deaf I have no idea, I have never flown a drone whilst I could hear. I am wondering about the distance at which members of pubic might be expected to hear my drone.
To break it down I, personally, am interested in Phantom 3, Mavic Mini, Mini 2, Mavic 2 Pro/Zoom, FPV.

It might also be useful if, as well as distance, you would mention
a) how good you consider your hearing to be,
b) the drone's type/model
c) the drone's height,
d) the background noise enviroment, e.g. rural/back of beyond, suburb without traffic, suburb with traffic, city centre
e) your age but perhaps group your age into decades e.g. 10 to 20, 21 to 30, 31 to 40 etc.

My flying would primarily be coastal/rural/back of beyond but I am a bit concerned about occasional flights in my garden, which is suburban. Thinking back, whilst the street itself is quite there is a busy road in line of sight and, when I could hear, that was a background noise I could easily hear but 'didn't' as it was 'ignored'.

I have the Mini 2 and the Mavic Air2, each has the supposed to be - less noise propellers.  My hearing is down to about half normal in my left ear, I can hear the phone ring anywhere in the house, and can hear others speaking.  However, the farther away from those speaking, the less I can understand of what I am hearing.  While flying either drone, I can hear them up to about50 or 60 feet up, then nothing.  Glad you asked this, it is a concern almost as much as sight, which I have pretty good in the left eye and receiving shots from a Retina Specialist monthly.  The right eye is very good, no worries at this time.  Interesting subject.

Wind can cause large variations.

Yes it’s the loudest whiny drone DJI made it and the avata are Very loud so if you are considered for volume I would get a mini 3 pro since it’s probably the most quite DJI drone to this day.

All I know is, I see better when I turn down the car radio.

Wind has a huge impact,   Ive been hovering the M2P at 40ft  when it cant be heard and then on other days its screaming.  

im thinking while the drone can be heard from a greater distance, it's not going to get anyone's attention until much closer and/or the faster it is moving.  when i do a fly by at 20-30 mph, i can always hear the drone approaching about 10 seconds before i can see it...roughly.  this is most drones except the mini3pro which you cannot seem to hear once it's leaving your ao and the dji fpv which apparently the entire neighborhood can hear.

directly overhead i can hear most any drone hovering even up to 400 feet.

Obviously, which is why I listed the drones I am interested in.

But it would be useful to others if people listed details of their drones and audible range etc..

Ok to be more specific, the DJI Mini 3 seems to go out of hearing range at about 20-30m. The mini 2 is way louder and can be heard about 100m away in my experience.

I have a Mini2 and always year it whenever it is somewhat quiet outside if it is within 150m reach.
