Hi RDB. Thanks. Not a bad day out, all things considered. Video footage isn't the greatest, but still getting the hang for the Action2 on its lanyard.

I've seen a few videos where the Action 2 was mounted to a breast plate but I'm thinking using a lanyard would be a better location.  The Action 2 does produce so really nice shots.  I'm still looking forward to see what the Pocket 3 brings to market.

I doubt I'll be migrating to that iteration of the Pocket. Certainly not in the immediate.

Sounds like a good plan.  I almost did that with the Mavic 3 and I'm sure glad I held off due to all the problems the Mavic 3 had at release.  Besides the Air 2S has served me well.  Still hard to believe that DJI has no intentions of releasing the SDK for the Mavic 3.  Lots of unhappy pilots about that.

The weather was variable all day.  And grandson is definitely a Big Kid. Not yet 18 yrs and he's 2 or 3 cms taller than me

Probably just about any camera could have something that it lacks or could do better. But having it work adequately for your needs is the thing that matters. And glad to hear it suits you :-)

Yesterday, I had my sauna turn in my high-rise and decided to take the Pocket 2 with the modded control port cover and the water-proof case for a brief test to see how they operated after the mod. It worked like a charm Though I'll suspect that if I get any more serious about underwater shooting in the pool, then I'll need a mount that I can properly attach to the pool ladder or something similar. My GoPro 3-way mount/tripod system seems to be too lightweight, even with the Pocket 2 and water-proof case on it. I need to fill the hollow handle with water to prevent it from floating, and even after that, it seems like the currents under the surface seem to sweep it here and there. :-/

Sounds like you need a heavier mount.

Yes, or something I can attach sturdily onto structures. Considering the GoPro "Jaws" mount, but I'll have to think about that, too. Though it would certainly be useful in pools and in may other purposes, I do think it would not work on beaches etc.
