I recall a few days before he went AWOL he was complain about a bit of a cold he was trying to shake,  Im hoping it was just that and nothing more although he's fully vaxed.

You're right he was complaining about a cold.  He even remarked he had embibed a little Calvados to help "treat" the cold.  Like you, I sure hope it is nothing serious.
